The Ministry of Health is implementing a pilot project for the establishment of the Electronic Patient Administration System (ePAS) in eight facilities.
They include the four Centres of Excellence and four Regional Hospitals.
The J$50 million project is financed by the National Health Fund as a part of the National Health Information System Strengthening and E-Health Strategic Plan 2014 to 2018.
Health Minister, Dr. Fenton Ferguson, says it should achieve greater efficiency in the health care system.
The ePAS is among the priority technology solutions which will be implemented on a phased basis.
This is being done through a two-year memorandum of understanding signed in September 2013.
