People's National Party (PNP) aspirant for South East Clarendon, Patricia Duncan-Sutherland, who is facing opposition in the constituency has declared that she will not be leaving any time soon.
Duncan-Sutherland's comment followed a demonstration late Sunday by some party supporters who are against her presence in the area.
The demonstration was mounted outside the Vere Technical High School where a constituency conference was being held.
The supporters are taking issue with the hierarchy of the PNP which they say forced Duncan-Sutherland on them. They feel there should have been a selection process.
However, while addressing supporters, Duncan-Sutherland said she would not be discouraged from representing the Party in the next general election.
Duncan-Sutherland, who is the daughter of Member of Parliament for East Hanover, D.K Duncan, was supported by PNP members including, Mayor of May Pen, Scean Barnswell and Local Government Minister, Noel Arscott.
