Police increasing road presence for Grand Market

Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen, head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch says there will be increased police presence islandwide as Grand Market activities are expected to heighten later on Monday.  
 
SSP Allen says this is to ensure public safety. 
 
"The police are out there now and we'll be out there in even greater numbers as we descend into the evening and into the night. We know that a lot of people is coming out (sic), and so, we want to ensure our presence is there to ensure safety of the shoppers," he told RJR News
 
The police are urging members of the public to remain vigilant against theft by being extra cautious when leaving ATMs, not wearing expensive jewellery, and by not leaving expensive items on the seats of their vehicles. 
 
SSP Allen has also urged members of the public to use the road carefully to prevent accidents.
