Police monitoring Central Village following double murder

The St. Catherine South Police are keeping a close watch on sections of Central Village following Wednesday night's fatal shooting of two men in the community.

Investigators say a gang feud in the area may have led to the killing of 38-year-old shop operator Delroy Lewis, otherwise called ‘Carlos’ and 49-year-old bus driver David Parkes, also known as ‘Parker’, in Brown's Lane.

A third man was shot and injured.

According to police, several men were sitting along the road about 10:00 p.m., when persons carrying AK47 and M16 rifles opened fire on them.

Mr. Lewis and Mr. Parkes died at hospital while the other man was admitted in critical condition.
