Police search for black SUV involved in Portmore robbery

The Greater Portmore police are seeking the public's help in locating a black SUV which was used in a robbery in the municipality on Thursday.

A radio personality was robbed of more than $600,000 in the incident.

The woman went to a financial institution in Portmore and made a withdrawal shortly after 10 o'clock.

She then drove to her home in Bridgeport when the SUV with two men abroad drove up.

One of the men alighted the vehicle and accosted the woman.

She reportedly resisted his attempts to grab the bag with the cash.

It is reported that she threw the bag onto her roof during a struggle with the robber and made an alarm for assistance from residents. Despite this, the robber climbed onto the roof and retrieved the bag.

The woman again confronted the robber and attempted to recover her bag, but the man pulled a gun and threatened to shoot her.

She relented and the man jumped into the waiting vehicle.

While trying to escape, the driver of the SUV reversed into a wall, extensively damaging the vehicle.

The Greater Portmore Police are urging persons who may recognise the damaged vehicle to contact them.
