Sergeant Patrae Rowe
The Police Federation has disclosed that a policeman is among the 26 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Jamaica.
Sergeant Patrae Rowe, Chairman of the Federation, said the policeman was on vacation when he became ill.
Sergeant Rowe added that a number of Jamaica Constabulary Force members have been quarantined.
He said he is in discussions with the High Command to have cops randomly tested for COVID-19.
He believes there is need for a testing protocol for the Jamaica Constabulary Force because members are more exposed and therefore more susceptible to catching the virus, especially those who work in quarantined areas.
Sergeant Rowe was speaking Thursday with Morning Agenda host Jodi-Ann Quarrie.
