Policeman and student injured in hit and run

A policeman and a school boy were rushed to hospital Thursday afternoon, following a hit-and-run incident on Molynes Road in St Andrew.
     
Shortly after two o'clock, the policeman, who is attached to the Traffic Department, was chasing a motorist on his bike, when he was hit by another vehicle. The vehicle also knocked down the boy. The driver sped away and is being sought by the police.
     
Senior Superintendent Fitz Bailey, Head of  the St Andrew Central Police, said the policeman is being treated for his injuries.
     
The injuries sustained by the boy are not considered life threatening.
