Policeman found with missing firearm offered bail

A policeman who was charged after a missing firearm was allegedly found at his house was offered $400,000 bail when he appeared before the St. Catherine Parish Court yesterday.

Constable Ajani McBean, who is assigned to the Operations Branch, was charged on Thursday following a ruling from the Office of  the Director of  Public Prosecutions.
A statement from the Jamaica Constabulary Force says a file was submitted to the office following a probe into the disappearance of  a firearm and a magazine containing fourteen 9 millimetre rounds of  ammunition from a police facility in St. Catherine. 
Constable McBean who  is to return to court on March 4, was ordered to surrender his travel documents.
