Policeman killed in Clarendon crash

Sergeant Robert Richards of the May Pen police station gives an account of the crash

 

A policeman died on Thursday evening in a motor vehicle crash on the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon.

He has been identified as 28 year-old Constable Jamie Robinson, who was attached to the Spanish Town police station.
   
About 6:30 p.m., Constable Robinson was driving his Nissan Skyline motorcar when he and other drivers overtook a truck.
   
While attempting to get back in his lane, the policeman reportedly lost control of  the vehicle and crashed into the wheel of the truck..         
   
He then collided with another truck that was parked.
   
Constable Robinson was pronounced dead at the May Pen hospital.
