Policeman who accidentally shot himself dies

Orrette Williamson, the Constable who reportedly shot himself  during an accident at his house on Tuesday has died.

Williamson, who was assigned to the Close Protection Branch, died early Wednesday.

 His girlfriend, who was with him at the time of  the incident, was questioned and her hands swabbed by detectives.

Williamson was reportedly walking down stairs at his home in the Corporate Area when he stumbled.

It's understood that he was clutching his firearm when it went off.

 He was hit in the stomach. Due to the severity of  the injury investigators were not able to question the Constable.
