Jamaica's postal agents island wide are still awaiting word on when they will receive their salaries for December.
The workers, who are represented by the United Union of Jamaica (UUJ), have reportedly been facing delays in getting their pay.
James Francis, UUJ President, discussed the matter Wednesday with Post Master General Michael Gentles, but there was no timetable when payment will be made.
“He has indicated that he doesn’t have enough money to pay to date, because he has to pay them out of a subvention. As a union representing these people exclusively, we are not going to allow this to happen for 2013,” said Mr. Francis
Mr. Francis wants the Ministry of Finance and Minister with responsibility for Telecommunications, Phillip Paulwell, to quickly address the matter.
The RJR News Centre has been trying unsuccessfully to get a comment from Mr. Paulwell.
