The Transport Authority says public transport owners can now obtain tracking devices for their vehicles through any company of their choice.
However, the Authority says they will be required to provide proof of installation and an activity report from their tracking system for the last 30 days, on request.
Initially, the Authority had selected four companies through which such services could be accessed.
Installation of tracking devices will shortly become mandatory for all public passenger vehicles.
It is already so for new applicants.
The Transport Authority says it is another mechanism being used to monitor and address matters relating to safety and security within the public passenger transport sector.
