Consumers should brace for an increase in the price of flour.
Jamaica Flour Mills is conducting a price review which is expected to result in persons digging deeper in their pockets to purchase the commodity.
The company told our news centre the review became necessary due to several factors including the increase in the price of wheat and the slide in the value of the Jamaican dollar.
The price review is slated to be completed by next week.
According to Jamaica Flour Mills General Manager, Derrick Nembhard, an increase is imminent.
The price of flour was last increased in December 2012.
US wheat prices climbed to a 10-month high on Wednesday on concerns dust storms and dry conditions will hurt harvests in the southern Plains states.
