"Progress" being made in probe of improper disposal of bodies of babies at KPH morgue

Progress is reportedly being made in the probe into the improper disposal of the bodies of two babies which were being stored in the morgue at Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).

The investigation commenced on May 12 following instructions from Philip Armstrong, Chairman of  the South East Regional Health Authority.

He told RJR News on Monday night that the authorities had “made some good progress since last week towards understanding exactly what has happened.”

A report in that regard will be made to the (Health) Minister “as soon as possible,” he said.

He confirmed that the supervisor of the KPH morgue remains on leave.

The decision was made to send the employee home until the investigation is completed.

The KPH was instructed to review its procedures with respect to the storage and disposal of  bodies in order to ensure appropriate measures are in place.
