PSOJ condemns statements by PNP members

The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) has condemned recent utterances by members of the People's National Party (PNP).

A statement from the organisation said certain members of the political directorate either make no connection between their public behaviour and the resultant indiscipline, coarseness of manner and disrespectful antisocial activities of their supporters, or do not care about the consequences.

The PSOJ described as disgusting, disrespectful and potentially dangerous outbursts by Basil Waite and Mikael Phillips on the political platform.

According to the PSOJ, this indicates that the People's National Party is still training political dinosaurs.

It said their unfortunate utterances represent the most regressive and ignorant behaviour that Jamaica had hoped to discard in its political history.

The PSOJ said the behaviour of Mr. Phillips, in particular, is extremely disappointing as he is a PNP Vice President.
