Road repairs from Gutters to Lacovia stalled; residents concerned

The delay in the completion of repairs to the Gutters to Lacovia road in St. Elizabeth is causing much concern among residents in the Goshen/Pepper communities.

RJR News understands that the delay is being caused by an interruption in works being carried out by the NWC.

Councillor for the area Donovan Pagon says residents are complaining about a major dust nuisance which has led to respiratory problems, especially among small children.

When RJR News sought an explanation, we were informed that the NWC is yet to complete testing of the new pipe mains which were recently installed.

A spokesperson for the contractors responsible for the road repairs told RJR News that as soon as they get the go ahead from the NWC, the overlaying of the road will begin.
