Roads in Trelawny, St. Ann still affected by flooding

Several roadways in Trelawny and St. Ann remain impassable due to flooding.
Stephen Shaw, Communication Manager at the National Works Agency (NWA), said affected areas in Trelawny include Duncans to Longpond, sections of Jackson Town and Clarks Town.
In St. Ann, he said there is still flooding along the road from Stewart Town to Brown's Town. The road from Ferris to Whithorn in Westmoreland in the vicinity of the Whithorn police station is also affected by flood waters.
Mr. Shaw noted, however, that the rains have eased and so several other roads which were affected are now able to be traversed.
He said the agency is monitoring the situation and will advise the public when the water subsides and the roads that are open to traffic.
