Search on for men who killed reserve soldier in Linstead

Herbert Garriques, Councillor for the Linstead Division
A major security forces operation is underway in Commodore, Linstead, St. Catherine, in search of men who shot and killed a reserve soldier in the neighbouring community of Banbury on Tuesday night.
RJR News understands that persons have been detained.
The soldier has been identified as 30 year old David Howard.
At approximately 8:50 pm, Mr. Howard was standing with two other persons in Banbury when they were ambushed by three masked men.
Reports say that there was a struggle, during which Mr. Howard was shot. However, the other persons were not injured.
Herbert Garriques, Councillor for the Linstead Division, said it is believed that the same men were connected to a series of robberies in the community, and Mr. Howard was caught in the middle.
Mr. Garriques continued by pointing out that there have been similar incidents of "serious break ins and robberies" in Ewarton and Commodore.
However, he expressed hope that measures will be put in place to control the situation.
