Seven shot dead in St. James

Seven persons have been shot dead in the western Jamaica parish of St. James roughly over a 24 hour period from Saturday into Sunday morning.

Those killed are 39 year old Richard Campbell, 37 year old Andrew Lewis, 24 year old Sharvorna Brown, o/c Crissy, a chef of spot Valley, Jhevon James o/c Scar or Jev, 25, of Paradise Crescent, and three unidentified males, while a 19 year old was shot and wounded

The latest killing took place in Rose Heights about six o’clock Sunday morning, when an unidentified male was found with gunshot wounds.

On Saturday seven persons were shot

In one incident, about 6.15 a.m., explosions were heard in Mount View, Barnett Hall. When Police arrived Campbell was seen lying face down in a pool of blood

About 12.30 p.m., in Salt Spring, a 28 year old unidentified male was found in a yard with gunshot wounds to his head

In another incident an hour and a half later in Norwood Gardens, the body of Lewis, a farmer who resided in that community, was discovered by his cousin after residents reported hearing explosions coming from his home

Two hours later, at 4 pm in Shanty Town, Norwood, an unidentified man was sitting at a car wash when he was pounced upon my unknown assailants who opened fire on him.  

And About 11.30 p.m., two men were killed in Leaders Ave. Both men were found in a car with gunshot wounds. 

The wounding of the 19 year-old took place in Catherine Hall.
