Shaw looking to improve border security with better equipment

Audley Shaw

Finance Minister Audley Shaw says he will push the fight against illegal drugs and ammunition entering Jamaica by increasing border security.

Speaking at a function on Monday, the finance minister said he would be looking to improve the work done by the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA).

The minister said he will be seeking foreign assistance to acquire machines to conduct 100 per cent scans on containers at the ports "because the technology exists and we're going to put that technology to work."
