She's now DCP Novelette Grant!

Assistant Commissioner of Police Novlette Grant has been elevated to the post of Deputy Commissioner. The promotion takes effect today.

DCP Grant is currently head of the police Area Five. She gained significant national attention in the modernization of the JCF, as head of strategic reform implementation team.

She was one of several candidates for the post of Commissioner of Police, upon the recent retirement of Commissioner Owen Ellington, but that appointment went to Dr. Carl Williams.

DCP Grant now becomes only the second woman to be appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police in Jamaica, following in the footsteps of DCP Jevene Bent.
