Following meetings last week with the general secretaries of both major political parties, Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown has said she is expecting all political campaign paraphernalia to be removed by next week.
This comes almost two months after the Local Government election and multiple attempts by the Ombudsman to have the parties remove the signs.
Mrs Parchment Brown told RJR News that the non-removal of the signs is a blatant disregard for the law.
"Outside of the campaign period this is a negative moment for the candidate, whether they're now elected or not because it demonstrates to the public that the person whose pictures or signs are up, does not believe that they are subject to the laws and rules that govern campaign advertising in Jamaica," she declared.
