A man who is before the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court for murder and being part of a criminal gang is facing an additional charge.
Kirk Hinds appeared in court Wednesday on a charge of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
It stemmed from an incident while Mr. Hinds was in custody at the Black River police lock-up.
The court heard that during an incident at the lock up last year, Mr. Hinds reportedly fractured the arm of another inmate.
Mr. Hinds was remanded until April 14.
He is to return to court on March 9 to answer charges in relation to a quadruple murder in Ginger Hill, St. Elizabeth on May 17, 2015.
