St. Lucia accepting 100 Cuban doctors, nurses to help fight COVID-19

The St. Lucia government on Tuesday said 100 Cuban doctors and nurses will arrive in the country to assist in the efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Prime Minister Allen Chastanet told Parliament that the Cuban health professionals would provide much needed assistance to their local counterparts.
He said the initiative was arranged by the Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs as well as the Cuban Ambassador to St. Lucia.
Mr. Chastanet told legislators that accommodation has already been arranged for the Cuban doctors and nurses who are expected by Friday.
