A St. Thomas farmer has been charged in connection with the chopping death of a fellow farmer.
Farmer Steve Shaw, 41, of a Middleton address in St. Thomas, was charged on Tuesday after being questioned.
According to police reports, Mr. Shaw and Mark Goodhall, 46, also of Middleton, had a dispute over goats.
It is reported that Mr. Shaw's goats damaged Mr. Goodhall's property on October 19.
It is alleged that Mr. Goodhall used a machete to chop Mr. Shaw in the head. Mr. Shaw then allegedly used a machete to inflict wounds all over Mr. Goodhall's body.
Both men were taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where Mr. Goodhall was pronounced dead and Mr. Shaw treated and released into the custody of the police.
He is expected to appear before the St. Thomas Parish Court next week.
