St. Thomas Municipal Corporation concerned about installation of some utility poles

The St. Thomas Municipal Corporation plans to write to the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) regarding the installation of two utility poles in the parish.
This follows a concern raised by the Councillor of the White Horses Division Hubert Williams during the monthly meeting of the Municipal Corporation.
The Councillor argues that the poles were not placed in the original alignment and therefore pose a danger to road users as they are too close to the road.
The JPS representative who attended the meeting tried to explain that the poles were placed in the position because of the high vegetation.
This explanation was not accepted, however, and Mayor Michael Hue instructed the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation to write to the energy company to have the poles removed and placed in the correct alignment.
