The more than 130 residents of Eastern St. Thomas, who were affected by recent heavy rain, have received financial assistance totalling $2.5 million, from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
The final batch of cheques were disbursed on Wednesday to 135 residents.
The residents, who had suffered damage to their houses or household items, were given checks valuing $15,000 to $20,000 each.
