Support for PNP President from two St Ann MPs

Two St. Ann Members of Parliament have thrown their support behind  President of the People's National Party Portia Simpson Miller, in the upcoming elections for President and Vice-Presidents.

News emerged yesterday that South East St. Ann MP Lisa Hanna and her colleague North West St Ann MP, Dr. Dayton Campbell officially endorsed  Simpson-Miller as their choice for PNP President.

Former National Security Minister Peter Bunting had publicly expressed an interest in the coveted position, but is yet to declare whether he'll mount a challenge.

Those who want to put in a nomination to challenge Mrs Simpson-Miller have until next week Wednesday to make their declaration.

Checks by RJR News revealed that Mr Bunting has not submitted an application for the top post in the party.

Over recent months there has been disquiet in the PNP, as well as mounting calls for renewal following the party's defeat at the February 25 General Election.
