A suspected serial rapist who has been targeting women in Portmore, St. Catherine, was held Thursday afternoon.
He was captured in Waterford, St. Catherine during an operation by members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC).
The police say he is one of the illegal taxi operators targeting women.
Detective Inspector Pauline Pink, acting head of CISOCA, said the police have been searching for the suspect for more than a year.
"Our record here at CISOCA shows that there are a number of allegations made against Mr. Swaby and the allegations are for various sex crimes," she said.
He is believed to be involved in several crimes including rape, abduction, grievous sexual assault and robbery with aggravation.
Detective Inspector Pink assured that Mr. Swaby's human rights will be respected while he is in custody.
