Thieves again break into Anglican church in Santa Cruz

Thieves broke into the St. Matthews Anglican Church in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth on Saturday morning. It was the second break-in this week.

Members arrived to find the back door open and the church ransacked. The thieves took wall and standing fans, a lawn mower and a weed wacker. They also made off  with a cooking gas cylinder, a stove and pots. Items were  taken from the refridgerator as well.

On Wednesday, thieves broke into the Church hall but did not take anything. Members say security was boosted with additional locks on the doors and extra lights.

It's reported that thieves have broken into the church five times over the last two months.
