The National Education Inspectorate (NEI) has identified 32 primary, junior high and high schools that are on their way to getting improved classifications.
In its latest report, the NEI described the institutions as “emerging good” schools because they scored high in the areas of instructional leadership and students progress in learning the core subjects of English Language and Mathematics.
The list was compiled following the inspection of 803 institutions which represent 84 percent of all public schools.
Maureen Dwyer, Chief Inspector, stated that the 32 schools stand out because their principals are effective leaders and relate well with teachers and students in fostering teaching and learning. She explained that good school-based leadership features a strong management structure, including middle managers, led by the principal.
The NEI classifies a school's performance as exceptionally high, good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or in need of immediate support.
