Three Caribbean countries to benefit from World Bank programme to boost broadband access

Three Caribbean countries are to benefit from a World Bank funded Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Programme aimed at boosting the quality of broadband access.
Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines will benefit from the US$25 million project that is being executed by the telecommunications company, Digicel.
The project includes the installation of marine fibre optic cable being undertaken by the Canadian based Company, International Telecoms.
The authorities said the project will increase access to regional broadband network by bringing true broadband connectivity to schools, community centers and Government offices.
