Popular dancehall entertainer Tommy Lee Sparta is set to remain behind bars for at least for another week.
A habeas corpus application seeking his release was filed by his lawyers in the St. James Parish Court on Tuesday morning.
On hearing the application, the judge has ordered that the police are to justify Tommy Lee's continued detention by next Tuesday, May 29.
The entertainer was arrested on Sunday morning at Manor Park in St. Andrew.
He was transferred to the Freeport police station in St. James on Monday.
Donahue Martin Jr, a member of the entertainer's legal team, who spoke with RJR News, has also expressed disgust after a photograph with Tommy Lee in his underwear while in police lock up was circulated on social media.
The attorney, who called the incident "extremely unprofessional" said he will be writing to the Police Commissioner on the matter.
