Trouble is again brewing in the constituency of North East Elizabeth ahead of its annual constituency conference on Saturday.
Speculation is rife that People's National Party member Basil Waite will challenge Raymond Pryce for the Chairmanship of the Constituency.
However it's understood that Waite, currently an advisor to Local Government Minister Noel Arscott, is planning to go against the recommendations of the Party's Secretariat.
Party insiders reveal that at Monday's meeting of the PNP's Executive the North East St. Elizabeth conference was discussed.
A day later two senior PNP members reportedly met with Waite and advised him that it was the wish of the Party that there be no internal challenge at this time. This was based on reports of tension among supporters of both men some of who have called for Pryce's resignation.
.
Waite, had previously applied to be the party's standard bearer in North East St. Elizabeth ahead of the 2011 General election.
Two other aspirants former MP Kern Spencer and Chairman of the St. Elizabeth Parish Council, Everton Fisher had quietly declared their intention to contest for the constituency chair. However party source say both men have shelved their plans.
