Tsunami drill conducted in Old Harbour Bay

Information is being collated to help prepare vulnerable communities in Jamaica for the effects of  a tsunami. 

As part of  the exercise, a tsunami drill was conducted on in Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine.

It was used to among other things evaluate the community’s tsunami response capacity and increase preparedness.

The exercise also tested the first siren system installed for earthquake/tsunami response in the Caribbean.
