TT officials investigate massive ganja seizure with Jamaican link

The authorities in Trinidad and Tobago are investigating a large marijuana seizure with a Jamaican link.

Customs and Excise agents on Friday intercepted a container, loaded with 232 kilogrammes of  high grade marijuana, en route to Suriname at Port-of-Spain. 

Senior customs officials estimated the drugs at TT$3.2 million.The 40-foot container originated in China and passed through Jamaica before coming to Trinidad and Tobago en route to its final destination. 

The container was offloaded at the port  and was scheduled to be loaded onto another ship to be taken to Suriname.But Customs officers, acting on information, seized the container soon after it was offloaded.
