T&T police, immigration officials under probe for human trafficking

Trinidad and Tobago's National Security Minister Stuart Young has disclosed that police and immigration officials are under probe for being involved in human trafficking in the country.
The United States Department of State, in its 2019 Trafficking in Persons report, made reference to investigations being initiated against three potentially complicit officials in human trafficking.
At the Senate sitting on Monday, Opposition Senator Wade Mark asked who were the Government officials in the report.
The question was not allowed by the Senate president but National Security Minister Stuart Young responded, saying no Government officials are involved.
He, however, said there is an investigation into immigration and police officials.
