Two men who were on the radar of the St. Ann police for various crimes were on Wednesday morning fatally shot by the police in Parry Town, Ocho Rios.
They have been identified as 34 year old Kirkland Gowe, otherwise called Sauceman and 23 year old Cabrina Rose.
Reports indicate that about 8 o’clock, a police team was on patrol in the Ocho Rios area when they received information that suspicious men were seen entering a building.
The team responded and as they reportedly approached the building they were greeted with gunfire.
This led to a shootout.
The Police say after the shooting subsided, two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
The police say a Revolver with one live round and two spent casings were seized.
Two other men who are believed to have engaged the police team escaped.
The deceased men were later identified as members of the Teacha gang.
The St. Ann police say Mr. Gowe was wanted for Shooting with Intent, Illegal Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Robbery with Aggravation and Absconding Bail.
He was also a suspect in robberies in Parry Town and Ocho Rios last year.
Mr. Rose was a Person of Interest in those incidents.
