The trial of alleged gang leader Uchence Wilson and his 16 co-accused is scheduled to resume Wednesday.
In July, defence attorneys began final submissions.
The defendants gave testimony denying being members of a network linked to major crimes in several parishes.
Six of the defendants were earlier this year released by Chief Justice Bryan Sykes following no-case submissions by their attorneys.
Prosecutors say members of the Uchence Wilson gang were involved in murders, rapes and armed robberies between 2015 and 2017.
The gang allegedly stole licensed firearms, cars and various items valued at more than $400 million.
