UPDATE: Maggotty High water crisis temporarily resolved

Sean Graham, Principal of Maggotty High School

The water crisis which forced an early dismissal of the morning shift at Maggotty High School in St. Elizabeth has been temporarily resolved.

Sean Graham, Principal of the school, told RJR News on Wednesday afternoon that a truckload of water was received which allowed the afternoon shift to proceed.

A number of teachers and students were absent in the afternoon session, the principal said, but classes were held nonetheless "because we didn't want to impact too much on the students' instructional time."

In addition, he said plans are place for the school to be in session on Thursday.

"We are just hoping that the NWC will also work with us to make sure that we start to have water coming through the pipes again normally," Mr. Graham declared.
