UPDATE: More than a dozen shot in various incidents in St. James, Hanover

The police have confirmed that more than 12 persons were shot in various incidents in the Area One Division over the last 24 hours.
     
Six succumbed to their injuries.
  
A man and woman traveling in a car on Howard Cooke Boulevard were shot dead Tuesday night by gunmen who drove up alongside them.
     
Four persons travelling in other vehicles were shot and injured.
     
In the other incidents, two women were shot and killed in Green Pond and Barnett Oval in St. James Wednesday morning, while two men were shot and killed in Canterbury and Flanker also in the parish.
    
The identities of those killed have not yet been released.
     
A man was also shot and injured in Flanker and another in Lilliput.
     
Meanwhile, in Hanover, gunmen invaded a house in Industry Cove, Green Island, and opened fire on the occupants.
    
A 50 year old businesswoman and her three children, aged 15, 30 and 31 sustained bullet wounds. 
 
The teenager was treated and released. Investigators say their injuries are not considered life threatening.
    
No motive has been established for the attack.
