UPDATE: One woman dead following incident near UK Parliament

A police officer was shot in the Houses of Parliament in central London.

Meanwhile, at least one woman has died and several others are critically injured after a car hit people on Westminster Bridge.

Footage on social media showed people lying in the road.

The alleged assailant was shot by armed police. It is unclear whether the assailant was responsible for both incidents.

Metropolitan Police say they are treating the attack as a terrorist incident and buildings are in lockdown.
