US issues updated travel advisory for sections of Jamaica

The United States embassy in Jamaica has issued a travel advisory, urging Americans to avoid areas across several parishes in the island due to an increase in criminal activities.

The advisory, which was issued Saturday afternoon, urged Americans to stay away from several communities in Kingston & St Andrew; Clarendon and St James, which are prone to violence.

According to the advisory, US citizens must avoid the parish of Clarendon, in that regard only driving through the parish using the highways.
