Verdict expected for Shortwood principal on dangerous driving charge

A verdict is expected today in the trial of the Principal of Shortwood Teacher's College, Dr. Christopher Clarke.

Dr. Clarke is on trial for causing death by dangerous driving.

This followed a motor vehicle crash on March 16, 2014 which claimed the life of  Yvonne Brown.

She was a pillion on a motorcycle which collided with a vehicle driven by Dr. Clarke.

Prosecutors say he was driving recklessly which caused the crash.

During final submissions on Thursday, defence attorney Anthony Williams dismissed the claims of the prosecutors and insisted that poor lighting along the Old Harbour main road contributed to the mishap.
