Voter ID cards to remain valid until December 2020, says ECJ

The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) has said voter identification cards will remain valid until December 2020.

The validity of all voter ID cards, which were supposed to expire on December 2017, was initially extended to December this year.

Director of Elections Glaspole Brown said the life of the cards will be further extended to facilitate a smooth transition to the new voter ID cards.

The Electoral Office of Jamaica is embarking on a national voter identification card renewal exercise starting November 4.
