Vybz Kartel murder trial - Digicel official continues testimony

Joseph Simmonds,  Head of  Business Risk at telecommunications provider, Digicel  took to the stand on Monday as he continued to give testimony at the trial of  entertainer Vybz Kartel and four co-accused.
However, prior to the resumption of  the sitting, Tom Tavares-Finason, Defense Attorney, raised concern about a news release issued on Friday surrounding a police probe into last week's acts of  sabotage on fibre optic cables that led to  the loss of mobile phone  service to thousands of  customers for almost two hours.

Tavares Finson highlighted his concern about aspects of  the release and possible effects on current proceedings in the Kartel trial, stating that the matter needed the court's attention.

In response, Justice Lennox Campbell after perusing a copy of  the release that was issued by the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) indicated that it would be dealt with at another time.

Kartel, whose given name is Adijah Palmer, and the four co-accused are on trial for the murder of  Clive "Lizard" Williams.   Prosecutors claim Williams was killed over a missing gun.
