Waterhouse and Cavalier hold advantage entering return leg women's KO semis

Waterhouse have one leg into the final while it could be an intense battle between Cavalier and Olympic Gardens for the other spot in the final of the JFF Women's Knockout Competition with the second leg semi-finals to be contested at the Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence at UWI on Saturday:

The day's opening day is shaping up to be a mouthwatering affair as last season's beaten finalist Cavalier hold a slender advantage over Olympic Gardens after edging them 3-2 in the first leg. Cavalier will be hunting a place in a final for the third time this season and will be hoping that national player Ranae Gordon finds the form she was in last Saturday when she hit the target twice, including one at the death which gave them the slim lead.

The outcome of the day's second game may already have been decided with defending champions Waterhouse enjoying a massive 7 goal cushion after whipping Arnett Gardens 8-1 in last weekend's first leg semi-final.

Waterhouse were led to their huge win by national player Shantel Bailey who scored four on the day, three of them coming in the first half. Arnett Gardens have been hit by the unavailability of several senior players for various reasons. The final is scheduled for next Saturday, January 25.
