Clamp down on attorneys
National Security Minister Peter Bunting has sought to clarify aspects of the revised national security policy. Mr. Bunting says it will include measures aimed at clamping down on attorneys who assist criminals in disposing, acquiring or concealing assets. The issue has always been controversial because of attorney-client privilege. However, Mr Bunting insists that the law needs to find a balance between legitimate legal services and attorneys who cross the line: National Security Minister Peter Bunting speaking yesterday on Beyond the Headlines.
