JUTC/UAWU meet over debt

The University & Allied Workers Union, UAWU and the management of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC, are now in a meeting to  discuss the company's indebtedness and the impact this will have on the workers.

It was recently revealed that the state-run bus company owes four point nine billion dollars in statutory deductions.

First Vice President of  the UAWU, Clifton Grant, says the meeting was called in response to the workers' concerns.

He says following  today's meeting, he  intends to meet with  Transport Minister Dr Omar Davies, in relation to his cabinet submission that will be presented next week.
