Shooting and robbery at RIU hotel
Tropical Bay RIU in Negril, Westmoreland.
The posh Tropical Club RIU in Negril, Westmoreland was the scene of a shooting and robbery on Tuesday night.
Reports reaching RJR News are that armed gunmen entered the property just after 10 o'clock Tuesday night and requested to see a guest.
The men later held up the front office staff.
During the robbery, an employee was shot.
Our news centre also received reports that a guest was robbed.

This has gone too far! I just encourage a few Canadian friends to go to Negril and this is the shame I now have to face! How can I feel comfortable in encouraging my friends, my co-workers to go to Negril when this could happen again at any hotel? If hotels become a target for criminals then tourism will feel it, Jamaica will feel it. I hope the tourism ministry address this fast and put some kind of action plan in place. I am so ashamed.
Did this happen at the RIU Club or the RIU Tropical? Can you confirm the shot employees name is Kevon?
I just spoke with a friend who works at Riu club and this took place at Riu club and yes it was Kevon.
This happen @ the RIU Negril not the Palace.

tropical was the employee in the entertainment crew was it a boy or girl was his name SPIDERMAN or MICHEAL R. USHERS BROTHER or SUPERWOMAN or DEVON C.
This was employees that were being jerked around from the riu with their pay , they have been laid off and the hotel has not paid up....
